Judd Nelson is nursing a broken thumb.

"I was in Toronto filming the NBC movie Mr. Rock and Roll. It was our last day of shooting and I took my dog to the park during some down time," explains Nelson.

"Before I could unleash him, he spotted a squirrel and took off after it with me in tow.

"The squirrel darted around a tree and backtracked past us. My dog spun me around and I wiped out. I was relieved to see that neither the squirrel nor the dog was injured. Then I noticed that my thumb was hanging limp."

Nelson finished his day of shooting and returned to Los Angeles.

"I figured the thumb would set on its own, but my mom made me go to the doctor who informed me the thumb was going to need a lot of assistance. Hence the full hand cast."
